IndigiMAP
Using surface tracking AR technology, IndigiMAPS is a socially impactful, interactive virtual board game that encourages players to engage in learning diverse Indigenous languages from across Turtle Island (Canada).
“We imagined a game show that provoked conversations with non-Indigenous peoples to raise questions about history and reduce racism in our community, due to COVID it was impossible to meet in person. Local Indigenous history and stories inform our current cultural understanding, and are important to honour and share. We never imagined that we could create a permanent Treaty 7 Trivia using GPS and AR, until we worked with Untethered Technologies’ team. We are so happy that our project came to life, in such a unique and permanent way” – Jared Tailfeaters, Cultural Instigators
IndigiTRAILS
Utilizing GPS & AR technology, the IndigiTRAILS app is an educationally innovative approach to help Calgarians make connections between our outdoor spaces and Indigenious culture. The app interacts with our well-loved ‘trails’ located around Calgary to give users the chance to play trivia games, view art exhibits, and take part in experiences that only exist in this culturally rich virtual space.
“Sparrow Artspace works with artists and community organization to nurture creativity, collaboration, and community. In working with IndigiTRAILS: Last Generation, we were able to support discussions about climate change and the environment, the articulation of these ideas though the art of the participants, and how technology can elevate and enhance art and necessary conversations to change our world for the better” – Sandra Neill, Sparrow Artspace
Indigenous Youth Employment Program
Using the latest VR technology, the Indigenous Youth Employment Program (working title) is a fully interactive VR game that equips Indigenous youth and employers with the skills they need to work together in a culturally diverse space. The game has been thoroughly and thoughtfully crafted with Indigenous partners and business owners to include multiple skill building levels that will help to educate employers and Indigenous youth in a professional environment.

Sacred Space
Through the use of our immersive AR technology, Sacred Space was created in collaboration with Calgary Police Services to develop a healing environment and raise awareness for victims of crime. The stirring digital space contains a multi-component interactive mural that represents victims, and also allows users to partake in a virtual smudge to promote healing.
“The Calgary Police Service is committed to be a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for all people. During their most darkest time, the police station should be the place where people can go to tell their story while seeking justice and healing. While designing the Sacred Space, at the Calgary Police Westwinds Headquarters, we wanted to tell the story of how the space was developed. We wanted to capture and share the story of community consultation, the commitment to be inclusive and our journey towards reconciliation. The mural was one part of telling that story. Through augmented reality, Untethered Technologies was able to bring that story to life in a way that allowed us to share the exact message we wanted to. We are humbled and grateful for the team at Untethered Technologies” - Alan Stomiikstotokan/Mii Tsaa Kii Naa, Calgary Police Service
